Seven. One Studios to globalise content with AI

Seven. One Studios International, the international production and distribution arm of ProSiebenSat.1, has closed a series of YouTube distribution agreements covering more than 500 hours of programming.

The deals come as advances in AI localisation accelerate demand for German‑language content on global digital platforms.

Spanish tech company DubMe IO has taken a package of German TV movies and scripted series, including Think Big (pictured) and Rocky and the Cop. The firm will run the titles through its proprietary AI pipeline to create multilingual versions and distribute them in 30 languages on YouTube.

In parallel, UK‑based Content Rocket has licensed a slate of German and English‑language TV movies for worldwide YouTube use, with some territorial exclusions. French distributor Zylo has picked up French‑language rights to a selection of TV movies for release across French‑speaking Europe and Africa, while Canal+ Distribution has also acquired YouTube rights to several titles.

Meanwhile, Seven. One Studios International’s factual catalogue continues to perform strongly on digital platforms. Australia’s VA Media, Germany’s Quintus Studios and UK‑based Little Dot Studios have all secured AVOD rights to factual packages for global distribution, again with some carve‑outs. Little Dot has additionally taken FAST Channel rights. Titles include the Boris Becker Special, Galileo X‑plorer, Curse of the Vologne and Every Family Has a Secret.

“The exploitation of digital rights – particularly for YouTube – is a growth business for Seven. One Studios International, particularly when it comes to our German language content,” said Tobias Schulze, SVP Global Sales at Seven. One Studios International. “The cost of subtitling and dubbing has traditionally held back the distribution of foreign language content into English‑speaking markets, but this is changing. As the quality of AI dubbing improves, language will no longer be a barrier.”

The deals were negotiated by Arnaud Trottier and Christine Jais.
