H.E. AlSwaha announces the success of the ICT plans for 2026 Hajj season

H.E. Eng. Abdullah bin Amer AlSwaha, the Minister of Communications and Information Technology and Chairman of the Communications, Space and Technology Commission (CST) Board of Directors, announced the success of the ICT operational plan for the 2026 Hajj season. Adding that this success is due to the unlimited support and enablement of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and the direct follow-up of HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

H.E. AlSwaha highlighted that the Kingdom’s advanced digital infrastructure played a pivotal role in serving pilgrims, enhancing their experience, and safeguarding their health, security, and safety. He pointed to a range of innovative techs integrated into the Hajj journey, including applications such as Nusuk, Absher, and Tawakkalna, which have enabled government entities to deliver services with high reliability. He also praised the dedication of professionals and innovators across the sector, in both government entities and ICT service providers, who contributed to serving pilgrims and facilitating their Hajj journey

In addition, H.E. Eng. Haytham Abdulrahman AlOhali, the Governor of CST, emphasized that the sector’s strong performance reflects the continued support and enablement from the wise leadership, resulting in outstanding network performance indicators. These included over 202.6 Million local and international calls during the Hajj season across Makkah and the Holy Sites , as well as mobile internet speeds reaching 351 Mbps, an increase of 18% compared to the previous Hajj season. Average daily data consumption per capita reached 1394 MB, exceeding (2) times the global consumption. This achievement is a result of robust infrastructure and the integrated efforts of all parties involved in serving pilgrims.
