Austrian pay-TV operator Sky Österreich has released version 2.0 of its Sky Sport Austria app for iOS and Android.
The upgraded app introduces a wide range of new personalisation tools, system‑level integrations and community functions aimed at strengthening Sky Österreich’s position as Austria’s digital home of live sport, according to the broadcaster.
The new version places a stronger focus on native iOS and Android capabilities. The app now supports live activities on the lock screen, redesigned news and live‑score widgets for the home screen, and personalised push notifications for favourite teams, leagues and individual matches.
“With the brand‑new 2.0 version of the Sky Sport Austria app, we are taking the next step in the development of our digital platforms and lifting them to a completely different level with the latest features in this area. Our community can already use all new functions for the UEFA Champions League final,” said Carl‑Michael Drack, Head of Sports Publishing & Platforms at Sky Österreich.
The update places individual preferences at the centre of the user experience. Fans can select favourite teams, leagues and matches and receive real‑time notifications tailored to their interests. A new “follow match” function ensures key moments are not missed.
A new community section brings together all interactive features after a free login, including competitions, the Sky Tippliga and the Ankick football manager. Sky Österreich aims to increase user engagement by bundling these activities in one place.
The live‑score section has been redesigned and now offers direct access to all relevant content around a match, from news updates to video clips. Additional widgets for news and live scores can be placed freely on the home screen, while live activities on the lock screen and in the dynamic island keep fans updated without opening the app.
