The Communications, Space and Technology ecosystem leverages all its digital capabilities to serve pilgrims in the Hajj 2026 season

The Communications, Space & Technology Commission (CST) announced the readiness of the ICT services for the 2026 Hajj season, with unlimited support and enablement from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques H.R.H. King Salman bin Abdulaziz AlSaud, and H.R.H. Prince Mohammed bin Salman AlSaud, Crown Prince and Chairman of the Council of Ministers, along with the integrated efforts among all government entities, the private sector, entrepreneurs, and the non-profit sector.

H.E. Eng. Abdullah bin Amer AlSwaha, Minister of Communications and Information Technology and the Chairman of the CST’s Board of Directors, accompanied by H.E. Eng. Haitham Abdulrahman AlOhali, the Governor of CST, visited several telecom service provider sites in Makkah and the Holy Sites, to review the readiness of the digital infrastructure and ICT services for this year’s Hajj season.

CST highlighted that the readiness of digital infrastructure among service providers included the delivery of advanced, innovative solutions powered by emerging technologies and artificial intelligence (AI).

More than 5,200 telecom towers have been deployed across Makkah, Madinah, and the Holy Sites, achieving 100% 4G and 5G coverage in the Holy Sites.

Mobile internet speeds reached 307 Mbps in Makkah and 364 Mbps in Madinah.

CST harnesses all its human and technical capabilities to facilitate communications and technology services and ensure their delivery at the highest quality.

This is achieved through a robust digital infrastructure with the efficiency and reliability required to enable both public and private sectors to leverage the latest innovations in emerging technologies and AI.

CST completed its preparations early on, in collaboration with telecom service providers across Makkah, Madinah, the Holy Sites, and various entry points, ensuring the readiness of digital infrastructure and its seamless integration with public and private entities to serve pilgrims throughout their Hajj journey.
