Disney Channel to join Disney+ in Germany

The Walt Disney Company will make its linear Disney Channel available on Disney+ in Germany from May 2026 at no additional cost to subscribers, extending the streaming service’s content offering with a curated live channel alongside its on-demand catalogue.

The move follows the recent announcement of ESPN sports programming on Disney+ and forms part of a broader push to combine linear and streaming experiences. The Disney Channel feed will be integrated directly into Disney+, allowing viewers to access scheduled programming for families, children and adults within the app.

The channel will remain available free-to-air via satellite, cable and OTT distribution.

“The Disney Channel and Disney+ have always addressed complementary audiences. While the Disney Channel offers a linear and carefully curated schedule for the whole family, Disney+ enables personalised on-demand viewing and live content such as the UEFA Women’s Champions League,” said Eun-Ky Park, SVP Direct-to-Consumer & Networks and Country Manager GSA at The Walt Disney Company.

“The integration of the Disney Channel on Disney+ is therefore the next logical step: we combine orientation and a shared viewing experience with the flexibility of streaming, offering our audiences more choice at no additional cost,” added Park.
