Morocco Accelerator launches second cohort of 19 startups at GITEX Africa 2026

Morocco’s Ministry of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform has launched the second cohort of the Morocco Accelerator programme, selecting 19 Moroccan startups — including companies from the diaspora — across strategic technology sectors including fintech, artificial intelligence, healthtech, agritech, and deeptech. The launch took place in Casablanca on 6 April, ahead of GITEX Africa 2026 in Marrakech.

The programme is run in partnership with Technopark Morocco and Plug and Play, the global innovation platform active in more than 70 cities worldwide. Selected startups receive intensive mentoring, investor access, and market development support, with GITEX Africa serving as their first major international exposure opportunity. The programme targets startups already in a growth phase rather than early-stage ventures, with scale-up, market access, and international network integration as its stated objectives.

The Morocco Accelerator runs alongside the wider Morocco 300 initiative, also launched on the eve of GITEX Africa, which supported 300 Moroccan startups at this year’s edition — up from 200 in the previous year and 100 at the programme’s inception. The government covers up to 95% of participants’ exhibition costs and provides bootcamps, mentorship sessions, and investor networking. The Ministry said approximately 800 startups have received support since the programme began.

Minister Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni emphasised the need to connect startups to high-potential markets and partners as Morocco positions itself as a technology hub on the continent.
