THCOM partners with Amazon LEO for next-gen satellite internet services in Thailand

Patompob Suwansiri, CEO of Thaicom Public Company Limited (SET: THCOM), revealed that TC 142 Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Thaicom, has reached a partnership agreement with Amazon LEO, Amazon’s low earth orbit (LEO) satellite network provider.

As a result, the company has been appointed as the official authorized distributor of Amazon LEO’s satellite broadband services in Thailand and is also the holder of Landing Rights, or the license to use foreign satellite transponders to deliver services within the country.

THCOM will deliver fast and reliable broadband internet via Amazon LEO satellites to end-resellers, expanding communications services for customers, communities, and businesses in areas outside existing network coverage.

This agreement caters to the growing demand for next-generation, reliable internet services in Thailand and also reflects THCOM’s commitment to introducing innovations in satellite and space technologies to strengthen Thailand’s rapidly expanding digital economy. Additionally, Amazon LEO’s services will support THCOM’s business expansion plan, which aims to diversify its services with cutting-edge satellite communication technology, providing high-speed internet access even in geographically challenging areas.

Amazon LEO is a highly reliable satellite broadband internet service catering to a wide range of customers, significantly enhancing the quality and reliability of broadband services for rural and remote communities in Thailand. To achieve these goals, Amazon LEO has deployed thousands of satellites into LEO, connecting to terrestrial networks such as antenna dishes, fiber systems, and various internet connections, supported by efficient, compact terminal equipment—including the LEO Nano, LEO Pro, and LEO Ultra models—that link with satellites passing over the service areas.

Amazon began launching these satellites in April 2025. At present, nine missions have been successfully completed, with over 200 satellites now in orbit. Amazon continues to ramp up production, processing capacity, and satellite launches to prepare for service rollout.

Chris Weber, Vice President, Business and Product, Amazon LEO, stated that Amazon LEO is committed to relentless technological development to help solve real-world user problems. The LEO satellite constellation has been designed to offer highly reliable high-speed broadband in underserved areas. Amazon LEO is proud to partner with THCOM to create new communication opportunities for communities and businesses nationwide, especially in rural and remote areas where reliable communication remains inaccessible.
