The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology (MTCIT) has officially invited companies and investors to develop and operate a comprehensive digital ticketing platform for Oman’s public transport network. This initiative seeks to modernize the Sultanate’s transport infrastructure by replacing traditional methods with a unified electronic system. Specialized firms are encouraged to design a platform that manages ticket sales across multiple digital channels, focusing on enhancing passenger convenience and operational data tracking.
The project is a core component of Oman’s broader digital transformation strategy for the transport sector. Beyond simplifying the user experience, the system is intended to provide the Ministry with advanced data-driven tools to support infrastructure decision-making. Tender documents are available until May 10, 2026, with a final proposal deadline set for July 5, 2026. Alongside this rollout, the Ministry emphasized strict adherence to the Land Transport Law to ensure public safety and the long-term sustainability of the organized transport sector.
