ZTE and Kcell sign strategic MoU to boost terminal ecosystem and FWA services in Kazakhstan

ZTE Corporation (0763.HK / 000063.SZ), a global leading provider of integrated information and communication technology solutions, announced the signing of a strategic cooperation memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Kcell JCS, a prominent telecommunications operator in Kazakhstan.

The MoU was signed by James Zhang, Senior Vice President and President of Asia-Pacific and CIS of ZTE, and Askar Zhambakin, CEO of Kcell. This partnership represents a major strategic move by ZTE in the Kazakh market this year, particularly in strengthening the terminal device ecosystem with Kcell.

Askar Zhambakin, CEO of Kcell, said: "At Kcell, we focus on improving connectivity for people and businesses across the country. We work with different global technology partners to make mobile internet faster and more reliable, including through the development of our 5G network. Our cooperation with ZTE supports this approach by expanding access to devices and developing Fixed Wireless Access - bringing fast internet to areas where traditional connections are not available."

Moving beyond traditional network infrastructure, this collaboration focuses heavily on the expansion of the terminal ecosystem. The agreement encompasses a strong mutual intention to jointly promote a wider range of ZTE's smartphone devices to the Kazakh market, offering consumers more choice and access to cutting-edge mobile technology. A central pillar of the partnership is the deepening of cooperation on Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) services. By leveraging ZTE's advanced Customer Premises Equipment (CPE), the collaboration aims to significantly enhance connectivity experiences for local households and businesses, bringing high-speed internet access to more users across the country.

The agreement signifies a comprehensive synergy covering the full spectrum of the industry chain, from wireless network systems to intelligent terminals. The collaboration is structured to focus on mutually developing the most advanced telecommunication radio network technologies, mutually accelerating the digitalization journey of the local telecommunication industry, the development of a robust portfolio of terminal devices, and the advancement of FWA services to bridge the connectivity gap. This strategic alignment is dedicated to providing users with a best-in-class network experience and accelerating the digital transformation of Kazakhstan's telecommunications sector.

The signing underscores both companies' commitment to bringing cutting-edge technology and connectivity solutions to Central Asia.
