Tunisie Telecom has officially entered the fintech space with the launch of Kashy, a new mobile wallet developed in partnership with Viamobile, a licensed payment institution regulated by the Central Bank of Tunisia.
The digital wallet enables a wide range of financial services, including money transfers, cash withdrawals, wallet funding, and mobile-based cash-outs. Designed around simplicity and accessibility, Kashy uses the mobile number as a unique identifier, offering users a fast and secure payment experience.
The rollout will be phased across approximately 30 Tunisie Telecom outlets nationwide, supporting adoption and accessibility across the country.
The launch marks a strategic shift for Tunisie Telecom as it expands beyond its traditional telecom services into digital financial solutions. The move aligns with Tunisia’s broader “decashing” strategy, aimed at reducing reliance on cash and accelerating digital payments adoption.
By entering fintech, Tunisie Telecom is positioning itself as a broader digital services provider, leveraging its infrastructure and customer base to play a central role in the country’s digital transformation.
