Warner Bros. Discovery will roll out HBO Max direct-to-consumer in 12 additional Asia-Pacific markets on March 26, extending the streamer’s international footprint ahead of its planned UK and Ireland launch later in March.
The service will go live in Bhutan, Fiji, Kiribati, Maldives, Marshall Islands, Micronesia, Nauru, Niue, Samoa, Tonga, Tuvalu and Vanuatu.
WBD said the expansion follows recent HBO Max launches in Italy and Germany, as it continues to consolidate HBO, Max Originals and Warner Bros. movies alongside Discovery and TLC programming within a single app.
At launch, HBO Max in the new markets will carry a mix of current and upcoming titles including The Pitt, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, and returning franchises such as House of the Dragon and The Last of Us, alongside library series including Friends and The Big Bang Theory. The service will also include unscripted staples such as Gold Rush and Deadliest Catch, plus kids and family brands including Cartoon Network and titles such as We Bare Bears, Tom and Jerry and Adventure Time.
The platform will support up to five user profiles per account, with personalised recommendations, kids profiles with parental controls, downloads for offline viewing and a Continue Watching feature across devices.
HBO Max will be available to subscribe via hbomax.com, with additional commercial and distribution details to be announced in the coming weeks.
