ZDF Studios has signed a multi-year agreement with Hungarian broadcaster TV2 Group for more than 1,200 hours of drama programming, covering free-TV, pay-TV and VOD rights in Hungary.
The deal gives TV2 access to a broad slate of titles from the German distributor’s catalogue, spanning long-running classics, romantic TV movies and contemporary series. The package includes classic series such as The Black Forest Clinic and Derrick, alongside romantic film collections including Rosamunde Pilcher (pictured), Inga Lindström, Spring Fever, Lena Lorenz and Katie Fforde.
Family-focused “animal twist” series Our Charly and Hello Robbie are also part of the agreement, as well as crime and adventure dramas such as SOKO Wien and Alpine Rescue. Medical titles in the package include Mountain Medic and Dr. Nice.
The agreement secures multi-platform rights for the Hungarian territory, enabling TV2 to schedule the programming across its linear channels and on-demand services.
“We are thrilled to continue strengthening our long-standing partnership with TV2. This extensive package brings together some of our most successful and beloved productions – stories that have captivated audiences across generations. We are confident that Hungarian viewers will welcome these series with the same enthusiasm they receive worldwide,” said Mirela Nastase, Director Drama at ZDF Studios.
Gábor Fischer, Chief Content Officer of TV2 Group, added: “High-quality drama is at the heart of what our viewers love, and ZDF Studios consistently delivers exceptional storytelling. This agreement significantly enriches our content offering across all platforms, and we look forward to bringing these well-known and much-loved series to audiences throughout Hungary.”
