Telenor Pakistan migrates subs to cloud charging and billing system

Telenor Pakistan has completed the migration of its entire prepaid and postpaid subscriber base to a next-generation cloud-native charging and billing system (CBS), marking a significant upgrade to its core network infrastructure.

The new CBS platform, delivered by Huawei Pakistan and hosted on a private cloud environment, is designed to enhance service resilience, enable geo-redundancy, and support high scalability as customer and data demands continue to grow. The operator confirmed that the large-scale migration was executed without any service disruption for users.

According to Telenor Pakistan, the platform introduces more than 100 APIs, enabling faster development of digital services, improved system integration, and reduced time-to-market for new offerings. The modernised architecture is intended to strengthen operational agility while supporting evolving customer expectations in an increasingly digital telecom environment.

Telenor Pakistan CEO Awais Vohra described the migration of approximately 90 million prepaid and postpaid customers as a key milestone in the company’s digital transformation journey, highlighting its role in strengthening core systems and enabling new service capabilities while supporting future network evolution.

Huawei Pakistan CEO Ethan Sun noted that the deployment enhances operational efficiency while providing a foundation capable of supporting next-generation telecom services.
