Careem Pay, the digital payments platform within the Careem app, has expanded its international remittance services, making it easier for UAE residents to send money abroad. The update introduces mobile wallet transfers to Egypt, cash pickup in Lebanon, and enhanced wallet and cash pickup options for the Philippines.
The platform now supports transfers to more than 35 countries, including key remittance corridors such as India, Pakistan, Egypt, the Philippines, Canada, Europe, and the UK. Transfers are fast, secure, and in some cases completed within seconds. Careem Plus members also benefit from preferential rates.
Key features of the expansion include:
- Egypt: Users can send up to AED 8,000 per transaction to all major mobile wallets, including Vodafone Cash, Orange Money, etisalat by e&, We Pay, and Meeza Network wallets. Funds arrive within 30 minutes.
- Lebanon: Users can transfer up to AED 8,000 for cash pickup in USD at more than 1,000 locations, enabled through Careem Pay’s partnership with Whish Money.
- Philippines: Transfers of up to AED 6,000 to wallets and AED 8,000 for cash pickup are available across 14,750 locations nationwide, with faster transfers through direct GCash integration.

The UAE–Philippines corridor is estimated at USD 3.5 billion annually, while remittances from the UAE to Egypt total around USD 8.1 billion each year. In Lebanon, the ongoing banking crisis has increased reliance on reliable cash pickup services for more than two million refugees and unbanked residents.
Careem Pay continues to simplify financial services across the region with peer-to-peer transfers, international remittances, bill payments, and digital wallet services. First-time users can receive up to AED 500 cashback and zero fees on their first international transfer using the code WELCOME. Users can access the service by opening the Careem app and selecting “Pay” on the home screen.
