IBM powers digital upgrade for Egypt’s Bank NXT

Egypt’s Bank NXT has deployed IBM software solutions in collaboration with IT consultancy Inspire for Solutions Development as part of a major upgrade to its digital banking infrastructure. The deployment includes IBM Instana, IBM Turbonomic, and IBM Cloud Pak solutions running on Red Hat OpenShift.

The implementation is designed to establish real-time observability across the bank’s digital platforms, automate optimisation of IT resources, and enable more integrated and efficient operations. Bank NXT said the initiative will help reduce operational costs, improve resource utilisation, and support the delivery of enhanced digital services to customers.

According to Bank NXT CEO and Managing Director Tamer Seif, the upgrade strengthens the reliability of the bank’s digital platform, improves operational efficiency, accelerates service delivery, and expands the range of digital solutions available to customers, resulting in a faster and more responsive banking experience.

IBM Instana is being used to provide real-time monitoring and analysis across Bank NXT’s digital banking environment, enabling early detection of issues to minimise customer impact. IBM Turbonomic is focused on automating resource allocation in hybrid cloud environments, helping the bank optimise IT assets while maintaining consistent service performance.

To further streamline workflows and reduce system complexity, Bank NXT has also deployed IBM Cloud Pak for Integration and IBM Cloud Pak for Business Automation on Red Hat OpenShift. These platforms are intended to simplify service development and deployment while improving internal process efficiency.

Alongside the technology rollout, Bank NXT is conducting staff training programmes covering automation, integration, observability, and DevOps practices. Inspire for Solutions Development played a key role in building the bank’s digital foundation, delivering observability, optimisation, integration, and automation frameworks, as well as enabling knowledge transfer so internal teams can independently manage and evolve the digital ecosystem.

IBM Northeast Africa General Manager and Technology Leader Marwa Abbas said the collaboration enables Bank NXT to build a high-performance, cloud-native banking environment with improved resilience, visibility, and scalability, while highlighting the role of Inspire in successful execution.
