CST publishes a public consultation on the “Space Sector Regulations and Guidelines” document

The Communications, Space and Technology Commission (CST) has invited the public to share their feedback on the “Space Sector Regulations and Guidelines” Document, which aims to stimulate Space-sector activities and ensure their efficient implementation, promote transparency in the procedures for granting licenses and permits to conduct Space activities, foster an attractive investment environment in the Kingdom, and encourage research and innovation in the field of space.

The document featured a regulatory framework and space activities guidelines including: Space object operation, crewed and uncrewed space flights, spaceports, space resources, space surveillance and tracking, the national registry of space objects and launch operations, sustainability guidelines, and insurance guidelines for space activities.

The document also sets out the detailed rules related to licensing and permits for space activities, including their durations and requirements, in addition to clarifying the obligations of operators and authorized entities.

CST encourages all relevant stakeholders and interested parties in and outside the Kingdom to submit their comments on the document and to support their feedback with detailed analysis and comparative studies.
