Khalifa University of Science and Technology has entered a strategic technology partnership with Gazprom Neft, becoming part of the League of Universities of Gazprom Neft, an international academic ecosystem spanning Russia, India, and China. The collaboration focuses on strengthening education, research, and innovation in the energy sector through closer industry–academia engagement.
Under the partnership, Khalifa University students will gain access to business programs, hackathons, and case study championships hosted by the Energytechnohub Petersburg, an innovation ecosystem developed with Gazprom Neft. The initiative will allow students to work on real-world technological challenges while developing practical skills relevant to advanced energy applications.
The agreement also supports joint research projects and academic collaboration across key areas including artificial intelligence, data analytics, geology, and green technologies. Industry experts from Gazprom Neft will contribute to course development and deliver lectures, while Khalifa University faculty will participate in designing an international education program focused on high-tech startup creation in the Middle East.
Further collaboration opportunities include short-term student exchange programs and the exploration of a dual-degree offering between universities in Russia and the UAE. In parallel, Gazprom Neft is contributing to the development of a BRICS-focused remote employment platform, which will be open to specialists from the UAE to support cross-border collaboration and global talent mobility.
