The Kingdom of Bahrain, represented by the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA), participated in the International Telecommunication Union’s World Telecommunication Development Conference (WTDC-25), held in Azerbaijan, alongside member states and global ICT experts.
During the conference, the Bahraini delegation highlighted the Kingdom’s progress in digital transformation, regulatory modernisation, and expanding access to high-quality connectivity. As an active ITU member and an elected member of the ITU Council, Bahrain contributed to committees, working groups, and policy discussions focused on advancing global telecommunications development and digital inclusion.
On the sidelines of WTDC-25, Bahrain hosted an official reception in Baku attended by senior officials, diplomats, organisers, and representatives of the international telecommunications community. During the event, TRA Chairperson Engineer Mariam Ahmed Jamaan reaffirmed Bahrain’s strong support for Adel Darwish’s candidacy for ITU Deputy Secretary-General for the 2027–2030 term, citing his experience, leadership, and vision for strengthening the Union’s global role.
Bahrain reiterated its commitment to continued collaboration with the ITU and its member states to promote sustainable, inclusive, and innovative digital development worldwide.
