Thailand’s True Digital Group, Vietnam’s VNPT Technology and AIoT integration firm T3 Technology have officially kicked off an initiative to design, develop and sell AI-powered smart home solutions in Vietnam.
According to a blog post from True Corp on Monday, the three companies have agreed to develop an open, scalable and secure AI home platform that will serve as the technological backbone for a growing range of smart home services.
True Digital, VNPT Technology and T3 will also select, develop and localise smart home products such as sensors, control systems and connected appliances that are suited to Vietnam’s market conditions and consumer behaviors.
The collaboration deal also calls for the partners to co-create new AI home business models for Vietnam that will enable VNPT to integrate smart-home offerings into its existing broadband and television services.
To Manh Cuong, general director of VNPT Technology, said the partnership marks an important step in VNPT’s long-term technology strategy.
“We believe this cooperation will open new opportunities for innovation and create more value for our customers,” he said in a joint statement.
The initiative – which was formalised under an MoU signed earlier this month – has been in the works since September this year, when VNPT expressed interest in adopting True’s “TrueX” smart-home ecosystem capabilities for the Vietnamese market.
The TrueX ecosystem – co-developed with Tuya Smart and T3 – includes routers, AI speakers and over-the-top (OTT) platforms that integrate features such as multi-language AI voice interaction, smart entertainment, education, news and IoT-AI integration.
Ekaraj Panjavinin, chief digital officer of True Corp and president of True Digital Group, said the tie-up with VNPT will showcase True Digital’s ability to export its expertise in smart-home solutions across the region.
“With over 2.2 million download and more than 800,000 monthly active users of TrueX application, True Digital will bring its experience in operating large-scale IoT and AI platforms in Thailand and other Southeast Asian markets to co-create an AI home ecosystem to deliver a seamless digital life experience for Vietnamese people,” he said in a statement.
