SUPARCO and National Telecommunication Corporation (NTC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to advance satellite-based communication and digital services across the country, with a special focus on remote and underserved regions.
The collaboration supports Pakistan’s national vision of a “Satellite-Powered Digital Pakistan,” combining SUPARCO’s space-technology capabilities with NTC’s nationwide terrestrial network. Through the agreement, NTC will gain access to geo-communication satellites to strengthen reliable, countrywide connectivity, while SUPARCO will leverage NTC’s infrastructure to deliver satellite communications, satellite imagery, geospatial solutions, cloud platforms and secure digital services more efficiently.
The partnership aims to enhance mission-critical communication, data security and accessibility, marking a significant step toward building indigenous capacity in both telecommunications and space technologies. It also reinforces efforts to expand advanced digital infrastructure and close connectivity gaps in hard-to-reach areas.
The MoU was signed at NTC Headquarters in Islamabad, attended by SUPARCO Chairman Mohammad Yousuf Khan, NTC Managing Director Major General Ali Farhan, and senior officials from both organizations.
