NeutraDC to connect data centres to Super Sistem’s subsea cable

NeutraDC Singapore – a subsidiary of Telkom Indonesia-owned NeutraDC – revealed that it has signed an MoU with Indonesian operator Super Sistem to connect the latter’s planned subsea cable between Singapore and Indonesia to its data centres in both countries.

Super Sistem is currently building its Super Sistem Batam–Singapore (SSBS) subsea system connecting Batam to Singapore. The SSBS is part of a broader project, the Barat Timur Indonesia (BTI) Cable System, being deployed by Super Sistem and APTelecom, that will link Batam, Jakarta, and Manado through seven landing stations.

Under the MoU, the SSBS will be directly connected to NeutraDC’s data centre in Singapore and its recently topped off Tier III data centre in Batam built by NeutraDC and Singtel-owned Nxera. The NeutraDC Nxera Batam facilty will have an initial capacity of 18 MW at launch, and will be expanded gradually up to 54 MW.

NeutraDC Singapore CEO Sendang Praptomo said the MoU forms part of NeutraDC’s long-term strategy to position Batam as a regional digital hub.

“Together with Super Sistem, we are establishing a scalable, secure, and efficient infrastructure foundation to support the growing demands of cloud, AI, and edge computing across Southeast Asia,” he said in a statement.

“By combining our subsea infrastructure with NeutraDC’s carrier-neutral ecosystem, we are reinforcing the digital backbone that supports the region’s transformation,” added Super Sistem director Chan Tuck Han.

Super Sistem and APTelecom secured corridor approval for the BTI system from relevant authorities in September. Both the BTI and SSBS systems are scheduled to be ready for service in the fourth quarter of 2026.
