Qatar has hosted the first-ever Arab Cyber Exercise as part of its 12th National Cyber Drill, held under the theme “Cross-Border Attacks.” The event brought together 21 Arab countries and the General Secretariat of the Council of Arab Cybersecurity Ministers to strengthen regional cooperation, enhance collective cyber readiness, and exchange operational expertise.
Ahmed Mohammed Al Hammadi, Director General of the National Cyber Security Agency, highlighted that rising cross-border cyber threats demand advanced preparedness and proactive awareness. He noted that Qatar’s annual National Cyber Drills—running since 2013—are essential tools for evaluating institutional resilience, identifying vulnerabilities, and improving response and recovery strategies across critical sectors.
The Council of Arab Cybersecurity Ministers also underscored the drill’s role in driving strategic regional collaboration and supporting a stronger, more unified cybersecurity ecosystem.
