flydubai teams up with Starlink to revolutionize inflight connectivity

flydubai is set to redefine the inflight experience for its passengers by partnering with SpaceX’s Starlink, bringing high-speed, low-latency internet to its fleet starting in 2026. The Dubai-based airline announced the agreement at the Dubai Airshow 2025, signaling a bold step in its mission to merge innovation with exceptional customer service.

Under the partnership, Starlink’s cutting-edge satellite network will be installed across flydubai’s Boeing 737 aircraft, with 100 planes scheduled for rollout next year. The service promises uninterrupted broadband capable of streaming, video calls, online gaming, and real-time digital services—turning the skies into a connected, productive, and entertaining space for travellers.

Ghaith Al Ghaith, CEO of flydubai, said, “We are proud to bring Starlink’s technology to our customers. Fast, reliable internet has become essential for modern travel, and this partnership allows us to meet the evolving expectations of today’s passengers. As we continue to expand our fleet and network, innovation remains at the heart of our strategy.”

Chad Gibbs, VP of Starlink Business Operations at SpaceX, added, “We’re thrilled to collaborate with flydubai and deliver connectivity that rivals, if not surpasses, home internet. Starlink is committed to providing seamless inflight experiences for passengers and crew alike.”

The installation process, designed to be quick and efficient, ensures that most of flydubai’s fleet will be connected by 2026. Daniel Kerrison, Senior VP of Inflight Operations at flydubai, emphasized, “High-speed, free internet is a game-changer—not just for passengers, but also for our crew, enabling real-time data access to enhance service delivery. Dubai continues to inspire innovation, and Starlink is another step in sharing our city’s spirit with the world.”

By adopting Starlink, flydubai joins a growing roster of global carriers embracing next-generation inflight Wi-Fi, offering a competitive edge in luxury, convenience, and connectivity for both leisure and business travellers.
