Free ad-supported streaming network wedotv has signed a global distribution agreement with VIDAA, bringing its upgraded direct-to-consumer AVOD app and new FAST channels to more Hisense smart TVs.
The wedotv app – with a refreshed interface and expanded live channel line-up – is now available on all VIDAA-powered Hisense devices worldwide. The service offers AVOD access to titles from its own FAST brands, including wedotv movies, wedotv BIG stories, wedotv sports, wedotv amor and time2Rlx, alongside additional free live TV channels such as EuroNews, SpiegelTV Geschichte, DFB Play, FIFA, Banijay and A&E channels.
VIDAA has also added wedotv’s new FAST channel wedotv: Legacy in the UK, US and Canada. The channel is built around the South African drama series Legacy, created in partnership with ZDF Studios, which handles international representation of the show while wedotv manages global channel distribution.
In Poland, VIDAA has launched wedotv: AUTA, an auto-enthusiast FAST channel featuring motor sports and car-focused programming, including content from popular YouTubers, in partnership with Motorvision.
VIDAA’s operating system now powers around 40 million devices worldwide, across Hisense and affiliated TV brands such as Toshiba. According to the Connected TV Marketing Association, VIDAA has a 7.7% share of the global smart TV market, second only to Samsung’s Tizen on 12.8%.
