Morocco launches nationwide 5G, marking a major leap in digital connectivity

Morocco has officially entered the 5G era with all three major operators—Inwi, Orange Maroc, and Maroc Telecom—simultaneously activating next-generation networks across the country. The milestone ushers in ultra-high-speed connectivity, low latency, and new digital capabilities for consumers, businesses, and public services.

Inwi says its 5G rollout enables instantaneous sharing of large files, designs, and videos with near-zero latency, enhancing professional collaboration and immersive mobile experiences. Customers can access inwi 5G with their existing SIM cards at no extra cost, with coverage beginning in major cities.

Orange Maroc reports that more than 100 cities are already covered at launch, with nationwide expansion underway. It is also strengthening Morocco’s position as a regional digital hub by enhancing Europe–Africa connectivity through high-capacity submarine cables. The operator highlights improved network efficiency and reduced carbon footprint as part of its sustainable digital strategy.

Maroc Telecom notes that 5G opens new use cases beyond speed—such as augmented reality, telemedicine, and real-time gaming—supported by years of investment in modernizing mobile and fixed networks, expanding transmission platforms, and deploying next-generation infrastructure across the country.

The nationwide launch positions Morocco as a leader in digital transformation in North Africa, unlocking new opportunities for innovation, economic growth, and enhanced digital services.
