President Al-Sisi meets global tech leaders to accelerate Egypt’s ICT growth

President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi met with representatives of 52 international and Egyptian technology firms on the sidelines of the Global Outsourcing Industry Summit 2025 in Cairo, reaffirming Egypt’s status as one of the region’s fastest-growing ICT hubs. The meeting, attended by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly and Communications Minister Amr Talaat, focused on expanding digital investments, creating high-skilled jobs, and strengthening Egypt’s position in the global outsourcing market.

Al-Sisi highlighted that Egypt’s success in hosting the summit reflects international confidence in its ICT capabilities and policy stability. He announced 55 new agreements signed between the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and major companies, expected to generate 75,000 jobs over the next three years. The president emphasized that human capital remains the cornerstone of Egypt’s digital transformation and underscored ongoing collaborations with global universities to equip youth with future-ready skills.

Minister Amr Talaat noted that outsourcing has emerged as Egypt’s fourth strategic economic sector, complementing industry, agriculture, and tourism. He reported that the number of digital training beneficiaries has surged from 4,000 to 800,000 annually, while Egypt’s digital exports from outsourcing doubled between 2022 and 2024. The ICT sector now contributes 6% of GDP, growing 14–16% annually, with Egypt maintaining its position as Africa’s leader in fixed internet speed and Cairo ranked among the world’s top innovation hubs.
