Sky is to add Disney Jr to the Sky Kids line-up in the UK and Ireland from 13 November, marking the return of Disney’s preschool brand to the Sky EPG five years after its linear channels were pulled in favour of Disney+.
Targeted at 2–6-year-olds, Disney Jr will sit in the Sky Kids pack with a slate built around Mickey Mouse Clubhouse+, Marvel’s Spidey and his Amazing Friends, Bluey, Doc McStuffins, Sofia the First and newer titles including Pupstruction and RoboGobo. Content will be available as a 24/7 channel and on demand, while key Disney Jr series will continue to be accessible on Disney+.
The move restores a dedicated Disney-branded preschool presence to Sky’s platform after the closure of Disney Jr, Disney Channel and Disney XD in 2020, and comes as the kids’ linear market contracts with recent withdrawals and closures elsewhere.
Narrative Entertainment’s Pop and Tiny Pop’s linear channels, plus the Pop Player app, are scheduled to close in December 2025, with Narrative indicating an end-of-year shutdown across Sky, Virgin Media and Freeview.
Disney Jr will be available across Sky Glass, Sky Stream, Sky Q, Sky+ and via Sky Go for customers taking the Sky Kids add-on, which is priced from £8 (€9.20) per month. With the additional service, Sky Kids will comprise 10 live channels alongside its ad-free Sky Kids channel and existing third-party brands.
