CRA hosts training workshop to enhance operational capacities of Syria Post

The Communications Regulatory Authority (CRA) hosted a specialized training workshop organized by the Universal Postal Union (UPU) in cooperation with Qatar Postal Services Company (Qatar Post) to enhance the operational capacities of Syria Post. The workshop, held in Doha during October 2025, represented an important step toward advancing the development of the regional postal sector and supporting cooperation among countries in this field.

The initiative was implemented within the framework of the Abidjan Postal Strategy and the UPU Regional Development Plan for the Arab Region 2022–2025. It aimed to strengthen the operational performance of Syria Post through the modernization of postal processes and the effective use of standardized UPU IT tools and systems, in line with global regulatory, operational, and technical standards. The workshop brought together employees of Syria Post who participated in intensive, hands-on training sessions designed to develop their technical and operational skills and promote the implementation of international best practices in this sector.

Engineer Ahmad bin Abdulla AlMuslemani, President of the Communications Regulatory Authority, stated: “The hosting of this training workshop by CRA reflects the State of Qatar’s keenness to supporting the development of the postal sector at both the Arab and regional levels, by promoting the exchange of expertise and building operational capacities that contribute to enhancing the quality and performance of postal services. This initiative also comes as part of the joint efforts with the Universal Postal Union to enhance integration and international cooperation in this vital sector, and to support the development of postal infrastructure and services in the region in line with international best practices and standards, thereby contributing to advancing the progress of the postal sector worldwide.”

Mr. Hassan Jassim Al-Sayed, Chief Executive Officer of Qatar Postal Services Company (Qatar Post), stated: “Such initiatives contribute to knowledge exchange and capacity building across the Arab region. Qatar Post is committed to supporting regional efforts aimed at advancing postal sector development in Arab countries and enhancing cooperation with the UPU in achieving sustainable postal growth.”

At the conclusion of the training workshop, Engineer Ahmad bin Abdulla AlMuslemani, President of CRA, received Engineer Mohammed Al-Ali, Director of Damascus Countryside Post of the Syrian Arab Republic, and the accompanying delegation at CRA headquarters. The meeting included discussions on several topics of mutual interest and explored ways to strengthen future cooperation between the two sides.
