Safaricom rolls out 5G home internet across all Naivas Stores in Kenya

Safaricom has announced a major step in its mission to expand digital inclusion in Kenya through a new strategic partnership with Naivas Supermarket, enabling customers to purchase 5G Home Internet devices at all Naivas branches nationwide. The initiative is designed to bring high-speed connectivity closer to households and small businesses, removing barriers to access and improving convenience for consumers seeking reliable, fast home internet.

The partnership forms part of Safaricom’s Silver Jubilee celebrations, marking 25 years of innovation, growth, and commitment to transforming lives across Kenya. Since launching as a mobile services provider, Safaricom has evolved into a purpose-driven technology leader, driving connectivity, financial inclusion through M-PESA, and community impact through digital solutions and social investments across the region.

Speaking during the announcement, Fawzia Ali, Chief Consumer Business Officer at Safaricom, emphasized the significance of the collaboration. “We are proud to partner with Naivas Supermarket to bring our internet connectivity closer to customers. It marks a major milestone in our journey to expand access to high-speed internet through both traditional and alternative channels,” she said.

The launch also coincides with Naivas’ 35-year anniversary, underscoring a partnership between two brands that have played pivotal roles in shaping Kenya’s retail and telecommunications sectors. Through this collaboration, Safaricom customers can easily access 5G For Home solutions while shopping, making adoption more seamless and accessible.

This initiative builds on Safaricom’s ongoing efforts to expand access to digital services. Earlier this year, the company partnered with Quickmart to extend availability of 4G and 5G Home Internet devices across its 61 outlets countrywide. Safaricom also continues to offer routers through its retail shops, authorized dealers, and online via Masoko.co.ke, with both 4G and 5G routers retailing at KES 2,999.

To further enhance customer experience, Safaricom recently upgraded its Home Fibre service, increasing entry-level speeds from 10Mbps to 15Mbps at no additional cost. New subscribers can now join the 15Mbps plan for KES 2,999, unlocking faster streaming, remote work capabilities, and smoother everyday browsing for households across the country.

With the rollout of 5G technology, Safaricom is strengthening Kenya’s position as a regional digital leader. The high-speed network will support emerging technologies, enhance access to government services, boost economic productivity, and empower homes and businesses with next-generation connectivity. Through partnerships like Naivas and continued network investments, Safaricom is reinforcing its commitment to bridging the digital divide and driving inclusive digital transformation across Kenya.
