CFE, through CFE Telecomunicaciones e Internet para Todos, continues to deploy infrastructure to ensure that internet and telecommunications services reach remote communities where private operators have not expanded coverage. This effort is aligned with Mexico’s national vision of social welfare and justice by reducing the digital divide across the country.
As part of this nationwide rollout, CFE has achieved significant milestones:
4,907 telecommunications towers deployed with 4G LTE technology
21,449.21km of dark fiber installed under the National Aggregation and Access Network (RENAyA)
102,329 free internet access points (PAIG) utilizing 4G LTE, ADSL and satellite connectivity
3,321,505 active mobile and wireless broadband services operating across all 32 states
These free internet access points are being installed in public education facilities operated by the Ministry of Public Education (SEP), as well as in IMSS Bienestar health clinics, prioritizing connectivity for students and underserved populations with limited service options.
By the end of 2025, CFE plans to install an additional 6,663 free internet access points. This expansion aims to benefit 111.6 million people living in more than 53,000 localities throughout the country, further advancing universal connectivity goals.
CFE reiterates its commitment to making telecommunications services accessible nationwide and to strengthening the infrastructure that supports digital inclusion in Mexico.
