In a significant step toward accelerating Bahrain’s digital transformation, the Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA), in collaboration with Microsoft, has conducted a series of specialised training sessions on the Fabric Data Management Platform — a unified data environment designed to streamline data collection, management, and analytics for smarter, AI-driven decision-making.
The initiative supports Bahrain’s strategic vision to strengthen public sector efficiency through advanced data and AI technologies. The Fabric platform integrates multiple Microsoft services, including Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, and Power BI, offering powerful tools for data modelling, integration, and visualisation.
Participants, including IT directors, AI engineers, and data specialists from various government entities, received hands-on training through WorkshopPLUS, an interactive programme focused on practical applications of advanced data management and analytics technologies.
Hesham Ebrahim AlHashemi, Director of Government Systems Support & Maintenance at iGA, stated that the training reinforces the authority’s commitment to upskilling government staff, promoting data-driven governance, and enhancing the digital capabilities of the public sector. He emphasised that the partnership with Microsoft reflects Bahrain’s continued leadership in AI, data analytics, and innovation, in alignment with Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030 and the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The sessions showcased how the Fabric platform’s AI-powered analytics tools and interactive dashboards empower teams to access and interpret information more efficiently, fostering greater innovation and operational excellence.
Through these efforts, iGA aims to position Bahrain as a regional leader in public sector innovation, enabling smarter decision-making, improved service delivery, and a stronger foundation for a sustainable digital economy.
