Jordan’s Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II has inaugurated the Aqaba Digital Hub, the country’s first fully integrated digital infrastructure project and one of the largest data centers in the Middle East. The landmark initiative underscores Jordan’s growing role as a regional technology and connectivity hub.
Located in the Red Sea port city of Aqaba, the project spans 17,000 square meters and houses the kingdom’s largest data center, boasting an operational capacity of up to 12 megawatts with built-in support for artificial intelligence (AI) technologies.
According to Eyad Abu Khorma, Chairman and CEO of the Aqaba Digital Hub, the facility features Jordan’s first marine cable landing station, a critical addition that strengthens the nation’s position as an independent digital gateway connected directly to global communication networks.
The hub also includes Jordan’s first neutral data exchange center, designed to host both public and private cloud services. It integrates advanced security infrastructure, including a security operations center (SOC) and a secure access platform, ensuring the protection and reliability of hosted data and services.
The launch of the Aqaba Digital Hub marks a pivotal milestone in Jordan’s digital transformation agenda, reinforcing its strategic importance in regional data connectivity and digital innovation.
