Telenet revamps TV menu with personalisation and local content push

Telenet has launched a redesigned TV menu aimed at helping viewers better navigate the expanding universe of live TV, streaming apps and local programming.

Customers will see a new “For You” homepage with personalised content recommendations, alongside easier access to Belgian-made shows and films.

The operator’s upgraded interface introduces a unified experience, allowing viewers to browse live TV and streaming platforms such as GoPlay, Streamz and Disney+ from a single screen. Users can also manage subscriptions through a new “Shop” feature — enabling one-click activation or cancellation of services billed directly via Telenet, removing the need for multiple logins.

“We want to guide viewers through an increasingly complex entertainment landscape,” the company said, referencing research showing a growing desire for cross-platform content discovery among Flemish audiences.

The platform’s “Watchlist” feature lets users save films and series across apps and channels. Meanwhile, the updated “Discover” section combines content recommendations across services, reducing the need to switch devices or platforms.

A standout feature of the revamp is the introduction of the “Van bij ons” page — a dedicated hub for local content. It highlights Belgian programming and talent, aiming to reinforce Telenet’s role in supporting the domestic creative sector. Viewers can access shows from VRT Max, GoPlay, VTMGo and others, alongside local offerings on streaming services like Streamz.

Telenet’s renewed focus aligns with its broader digital TV journey, which began 20 years ago. Innovations such as pausing, rewinding, multi-device viewing and voice search have been central to its strategy.

“As with our 2005 digital TV launch, our goal remains the same — making TV simpler, more flexible and enjoyable,” the company added.

Telenet Group, which also operates the BASE and TADAAM brands, said the update reflects its commitment to offering tailored viewing solutions for Belgian households in an increasingly fragmented media landscape.
