Ekaterine Imedadze, Commissioner at the Georgian National Communications Commission (ComCom), Chair of EaPeReg, and Board Member of the ITU Digital Regulation Network (DRN), actively contributed to the Global Symposium for Regulators 2025 (GSR-25) in Riyadh, convened by the ITU and graciously hosted by the Communications, Space & Technology Commission (CST) of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
In her interventions, Ms. Imedadze highlighted Georgia’s national reforms in 5G spectrum policy, MVNO market liberalization, and infrastructure-sharing frameworks, as well as the Log-in Georgia broadband program expanding connectivity and digital skills in rural areas. She also represented EaPeReg at the Heads of Regulators Roundtable and contributed to the Digital Regulation Network (DRN) sessions and the ITU Best Practice Guidelines, emphasizing the importance of regional harmonization, cross-border cooperation, and investment-ready ecosystems.
"It is both meaningful and a source of pride that Georgia’s voice resonates on this global platform. By engaging through EaPeReg and the DRN, we are not only aligning with international best practices but also helping to shape inclusive, harmonized digital futures. Georgia remains steadfast in its strategic aspiration to become a trusted regional digital hub connecting Europe and Asia." — Ekaterine Imedadze
Another highlight of her participation was moderating the flagship session “Connect – From Earth to Space.” In her opening remarks, she stressed:
"We are no longer debating whether universal connectivity is achievable. The real question now is how fast we can deliver it — and how inclusively we can ensure it reaches every community, from the most remote village to the most advanced city. If we act boldly, universal connectivity can be the great equalizer of our time. If we hesitate, it risks becoming the great divider."
She also led an interactive session under the Network of Women (NoW), reinforcing the importance of women’s leadership and empowerment in digital governance.
