The Directorate of Communications and Information Technology in Baghlan has announced that, in response to public demand, 29 communication sites across the province have been upgraded from 2G and 3G to 4G.
Maulavi Abdul Hanan Fayaz, head of the provincial directorate, told Bakhtar News Agency that over the past four years, 15 sites belonging to Roshan Network, 11 to Afghan Wireless, and 3 to Etisalat have been upgraded in Pul-e-Khumri city and several districts. He added that the upgrades aim to improve the quality of telecommunication and internet services.
Fayaz further stated that plans are in place to upgrade the remaining sites as well, so that all 2G and 3G sites in the province will eventually be converted to 4G.
Meanwhile, a number of Baghlan residents continue to complain that internet services remain weak and do not meet people’s needs. They have called on telecommunication companies to expand, accelerate, and standardize their services.
