Ora Technologies, the fast-growing Moroccan super-app startup, has acquired local last-mile delivery platform Cathedis for an undisclosed amount, marking a strategic move to build an integrated e-commerce and fintech powerhouse.
Founded in 2023 by Omar Alami, Ora has rapidly expanded its offerings through its multifunctional app, which combines peer-to-peer transactions, e-commerce, on-demand services, chat features, and social networking. Its food delivery arm, Kooul, has attracted over 15,000 active clients in just 10 months, while its universal mobile wallet, ORA Cash, has surpassed 50,000 accounts in five months—becoming a key tool for digitizing Morocco’s extensive cash-on-delivery economy.
The acquisition follows Ora’s successful fundraising efforts this year, including a $1.9 million pre-Series A in March and a $7.5 million Series A in July. The new capital was aimed at scaling last-mile delivery and digital cash collection, areas now strengthened by the addition of Cathedis.
Cathedis, which recently secured its own Series A funding, brings robust last-mile logistics capabilities that will allow Ora to control the delivery process directly. By integrating payments, e-commerce, and logistics under one umbrella, Ora aims to deliver a seamless end-to-end experience—from digital checkout to doorstep delivery—for customers and merchants across Morocco.
The move positions Ora Technologies at the forefront of Morocco’s digital economy, combining fintech innovation with logistics infrastructure to capture a rapidly growing market.
