DAZN has announced a multi-year agreement with the National Football League (NFL) to become the exclusive broadcaster of NFL games in Spain, starting with the 2025 season.
The deal marks a significant expansion of DAZN’s American football offering in the region and includes regular-season matchups, playoff games, and Super Bowl LX.
Under the agreement, DAZN will air five NFL games each week, including the season opener between the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles on September 5. Spanish fans will also be able to watch the Miami Dolphins vs. Washington Commanders game on November 16, held at Madrid’s Santiago Bernabéu Stadium.
All games will feature Spanish-language commentary, and DAZN will introduce a new Sunday program called Game Time, a seven-hour live broadcast inspired by NFL RedZone, offering real-time coverage of game highlights. The original English version of NFL RedZone will also be available.
In addition to subscription content through DAZN’s Football and Premium plans, one NFL game per week will be offered free-to-air to users who register on the DAZN app with an email address. The platform will also host original programming and on-demand content, accessible across smart TVs, smartphones, tablets, and gaming consoles.
DAZN Iberia CEO Oscar Vilda highlighted the sport’s growing popularity in Spain: “This partnership brings the passion of American football to more fans and enriches our catalog without raising subscription costs.”
NFL executives echoed the significance of the deal. Gerrit Meier, Managing Director of NFL International, called it “a very important step” in the league’s global expansion, while Laura Louisy, Director of International Business Development and Media, emphasized DAZN’s role in connecting with Spanish audiences ahead of the league’s first regular-season game in Madrid.
