Etisalat Group, the leading telecoms operator in the Middle East, Africa and Asia, has announced the appointment of four UAE National executives to HR and Administration leadership roles in Etisalat Group operating companies in Egypt, Pakistan and Afghanistan. The executives are all Etisalat employees that have had distinguished careers and played a vital role within the corporation.
Abdulaziz Al Sawaleh, Chief Human Resources Officer of Etisalat Group, said: “For an organization to assign home-grown talent to leadership roles in international operations is a sign of a strong human resource development strategy and programme. Obaid Al Zaabi takes over as Chief Human Resources and Administration Officer at Etisalat Afghanistan. Obaid joined Etisalat Abu Dhabi as a fresh graduate in 2001 and has taken on a range of roles in UAE. Nigeria and at Group Level. His current assignment in Afghanistan expands and demonstrates his successful growth within the organization.
Ahmed Al Zarooni joins Etisalat Misr as Chief Human Resources and Administration Officer. Ahmed’s previous role with Etisalat was that of Senior Vice President for Corporate Strategy and Support Services at Etisalat Services Holding. He joined Etisalat in 1989 and has served in Engineering and HR functions in the UAE and in Sudan.
JafarAbdullah has been appointed as Director Contracts and Administration at Etisalat Misr. During his 18 year career with Etisalat, which he began as HR Coordinator in Etisalat Abu Dhabi, he has progressed through administration, facilities management, and support services management. In his previous role with Canar in Sudan, Jafar managed all of the HR and administrative needs of the company.
Yousef Soofa takes the position of Chief Human Resources and Administration Officer for Ufone, Pakistan. After joining Etisalat in 1993, he has held prominent roles in Etisalat UAE, Egypt and in India within Human Resources and Administration functions.
