NTL-HBL joint venture to benefit unbanked population in financial transaction

NADRA Technologies Limited (NTL) and Habib Bank Limited (HBL) signed a Branchless Banking Super Agency Agreement. Under the agreement, more than 5,500 NADRA e-Sahulat outlets will  conduct branchless banking financial transactions under the brand name of HBL Express.
 
This is a strategic partnership between HBL and NADRA Technologies that will result in provision of financial services, to the unbanked population of Pakistan. It is a joint step of both the entities towards financial inclusion, leading to inclusive growth in Pakistan. 
 
HBL, being the largest commercial bank in Pakistan has launched branchless banking operations in April this year by the brand name of “HBL Express”, with the vision to focus on the under privileged and under/un banked population of Pakistan. 
 
Through HBL Express, the bank is providing convenient and reliable  banking services to the unbanked at affordable prices through its agent network spread all across Pakistan. This strategic partnership will now further extend the services on the already existing E-Sahulat Outlets of NADRA Technologies. 
 
The agreement was signed at NADRA’s Head Office in Islamabad between  Tariq Malik, CEO NTL and Faiq Sadiq, Head - Payment Services HBL. The ceremony was attended by senior management of both organizations, including Gohar Marwat Khan, Deputy CEO, NADRA Technologies Limited, Mr. Azfar Jamal - Head of Branchless Banking HBL, and Mr. Saleem Rafik, DG Operations, NADRA Technologies Limited. 
 
Expressing his views on the occasion Tariq Malik said together we can  help improve the quality of peoples’ lives benefitting the unbanked population, bring transparency and documentation of the economy. 
He said the joint venture would leverage the Synergies of HBL Express and NADRA e-Sahulat by provisioning of HBL Express branchless banking service at NADRA’s 5,500 agents. Our strong presence in the remote areas would provide branchless banking service to our public in remote and rural areas, he added.
 
Faiq Sadiq said, “This partnership will allow HBL Express to expand its branchless banking footprint in Pakistan while providing peace of mind to its consumers since all financial transactions carried out are completely safe and secure.”
 
Domestic Remittance, one of the main features of this agreement will  offer customers the convenience of sending and receiving money from all over Pakistan using just their CNIC. It is the easiest and simplest way to send and receive money instantaneously. 
 
NADRA e-Sahulat outlets are present in both rural as well as urban
areas of Pakistan and opens up new opportunities and accessibility for the general public, as they operate after banking hours and on weekends as well.
