Integrated Telecom Company (ITC) - one of the leading telecommunications service providers in Saudi Arabia and datamena- a carrier-neutral data centre, connectivity interchange and services platform in the UAE today announced an agreement to set up a multi-service Point of Presence (PoP) in datamena’s Carrier Neutral Data Centre in Dubai which includes many Tier-1 IP Transit, Carriers and Content Players.
This allows ITC to create a Network-to-Network Interface (NNI) with regional and international service providers which have a PoP presence in datamena, including du, the Middle East’s fastest growing telecom company. This also allows ITC to tap into Tier 1 access services through the datamena hub. ITC aims to develop more services together with du. ITC’s datamena Point of Presence (PoP) represents an important expansion of ITC’s reach and will significantly strengthen its international network.
Says Georges Jaber, ITC VP, Wholesale, Business Sales and Solutions: “Interconnecting with major regional providers is a key step to growth and an important part of our commitment to provide superior connectivity solutions for enterprise connectivity projects with more capacity for global expansion; Carrier Neutral hubs such as datamena are a core enabler for us to meet this commitment.”
According to Mahesh Jaishankar, Vice President, datamena, “We welcome ITC in datamena, helping them boost their connectivity and presence in the region and beyond. With the joining of leading telecommunication providers like ITC, datamena is rapidly gaining prominence to be the partner of choice for regional and global companies who seek connectivity and data center services"
ITC was recently named the Best Saudi Telecom Operator for 2013 (Business Services) at TESLA 2013, the biggest annual gathering of leading telecom, technology and information professionals and companies in Saudi Arabia.
