Fibre to the home challenges and opportunities in MENA region and In the world

Jordan: The FTTH market situation in MENA, Latin America and Africa regions is witnessing a very dynamic development on the Fibre projects as ultra high speed broadband projects.

Being part of the global FTTH councils in the world, FTTH Council MENA board members give very detailed and deep insights into this market. The competitive and regulatory environment as well as the latest FTTH projects and the FTTH business opportunities in the region will be debated during the pre-conference workshop which is jointly organized by the FTTH Council Middle East & North Africa, FTTH Council Africa and the FTTH Council Latin America Chapter.

Only FTTH/B can ensure continuously large reliable upload and download bandwidth, combined with high quality of service. But FTTH/B is much more than fast internet: it enables a new world of services and applications in home entertainment, as well as new ways of working and taking care of the sick and the elderly. Alternative technologies using existing copper networks are merely partial and temporary responses, not comparable to future-proof fibre access solutions.

"Creating a brighter future" is the theme of the FTTH Conference, which will take place at the International Congress Centre Munich (ICM) on 14-16 February 2012 under the host of sister council FTTH Council Europe. The event will highlight the many different ways in which FTTH can create social, economic and environmental benefits and cover a wide range of other topics such as financing and regulatory environment.

The participation of FTTH Council MENA board members in such global event is another step further to bring to the region the latest knowledge of FTTH as future-proof technology.
