STC will be launching, as an exclusive to its customers, the first Windows Phone 7 device in the Kingdom, the HTC HD7. The HTC HD7 comes with a 4.3 inch WVGA TFT capacitive touch screen, and is also equipped with a 5 mega pixel camera withdual LED flash with auto focus and HD video features. As for data transfer, the device is supported with 802.11 wifi, Bluetooth and an AGPS/GPS system. Windows Phone 7 was designed to deliver a mobile experience that has the phone working better for people, bringing together the things they care about most and helping them to get things done faster.
Windows Phone 7 breaks the current smartphone convention to help people quickly and easily find and consume data, information and services from the Web and applications. For instance, the customizable Start screen with Live Tiles is a personal experience, showing people their own content. The Live Tiles come to life with real-time updates from the Web such as news, appointments or the status of friends. New Live Tiles can be easily created from whatever content a user wants, such as applications, websites and music. Windows Phone 7 devices also come pre-loaded with Microsoft Office Mobile, One Note Mobile and SharePoint.

By teaming up with STC for the launch of the HTC HD7 we believe we are well positioned to tap the tremendous market potential that Saudi Arabia offers, especially for cutting-edge technologies.”
Samir Noman, President Microsoft Saudi Arabia LLC said, “We have a beautiful lineup in this first wave of Windows Phone 7 handsets, which were previewed for the first time in the Middle East at Gitex, and the HTC HD7 was the most popular amongst the exhibition visitors. Microsoft and its partners are delivering a different kind of mobile phone and experience — one that makes everyday tasks faster by getting more done in fewer steps and providing timely information in a ‘glance and go’ format.”
