In Lebanon, UNICEF, in coordination with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education and the Center for Education Research and Development, and with support from Teach for Lebanon, implemented a digital learning inception programme across 14 public schools. The initiative targeted Grade 6 and 7 students in mathematics, science, and languages through Madristi, a localized version of the UNICEF Learning Passport platform aligned with the national curriculum.
The research brief draws on evidence from the programme’s inception phase, covering 2,432 students and 285 teachers. It examines how learners and educators engaged with digital tools during in-person instruction, offering insight into real-world classroom integration.
The findings highlight key challenges, effective practices, and investment priorities for scaling digital learning across public education systems. The brief underscores the potential of technology to deliver more relevant and engaging learning experiences while supporting the development of critical 21st-century skills.
