Iliad Italy has announced that it has reached the milestone of ten million active mobile subscriptions, just under five years since it launched to become Italy’s fourth mobile network operator (MNO). Initially targeting a 10% market share, the French-owned firm managed to surpass that figure in 2021 and claimed 12.4% of the overall market at the end of 2022. Iliad made an unsuccessful EUR11.25 billion (USD12.1 billion) takeover bid for rival operator Vodafone Italy in March 2022.
Benedetto Levi, CEO of Iliad Italy, commented: ‘Reaching ten million users is the concrete demonstration that our main investment, the one in building a relationship of trust with our users, is paying off. This milestone represents a strong incentive for Iliad to move forward in the direction traced, continuing to innovate in order to be able to continue to keep our promises and increase our community more and more.’
