Telekom Deutschland, the domestic fixed and mobile operating unit of Deutsche Telekom (DT), has announced that its LTE network now reaches 99% of the population in each federal state. Nationwide, 99.6% of Germans are able to access 4G with speeds of at least 100Mbps. To reach this coverage target, Telekom has put more than 5,000 new mobile sites into operation since the 2019 multi-band spectrum auction, while existing locations have also been equipped with more capacity. It has also closed around 1,500 so-called white spots across the country, partly thanks to the reallocation of the 900MHz band for 4G services last year.
