Smile Communications Nigeria, the local unit of Mauritius-based pan-African telecoms group Smile Telecoms Holdings, has expanded coverage of its 4G LTE network to the city of Kano, local newspaper This Day reports. The company first launched commercial services in Ibadan in 2013, before extending the 800MHz LTE network to Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt the following year, Benin City in November 2015 and Kaduna, Onitsha and Asaba in March 2016.
Smile’s Chief Marketing Officer Abdul Hafeez commented: ‘Our customers in Kano will have unlimited free Smile-to-Smile calls with the new Smile eSIM, and within the next few weeks we are expanding our other world class services which Smile is known for.’
