Algerie Telecom and Djezzy sign QoS agreement in Algeria

Algeria’s state-backed operators Algerie Telecom (AT) and Djezzy have signed a new partnership agreement focused on boosting quality of service (QoS).

Agence Ecofin reports that the operators will cooperate on ‘sharing value-added services’ to improve their QoS, indicating that they will begin aligning their suite of services. Djezzy’s acting general manager Mahieddine Allouche talked up the synergies that the agreement would enable, saying: “This association with Algerie Telecom will open the door to great opportunities for collaboration and cooperation, bringing added value to the ecosystem and new services to citizens.”

AT is the fixed line incumbent in Algeria, and the sister firm of state mobile provider – and market leader – Mobilis (Algerie Telecom Mobile). Djezzy is Algeria’s second largest mobile operator, and is now controlled by the state’s National Investment Fund (FNI / Fonds National d’Investissement) following its acquisition of Veon’s 45.6% stake in August 2022.
