DIGI and MASMOVIL benefit most from number portability in 1H22

Spanish business journal Cinco Dias has published an update on fixed and mobile number portability (FNP/MNP) in Spain covering the period January-June 2022, highlighting that DIGI Mobil – a wholly-owned subsidiary of Romanian telco RCS&RDS – led the way in terms of FNP, recording a net 57,000 fixed lines in 1H22. Grupo MASMOVIL (incl. Yoigo), meanwhile, was a close second with a little over 51,000 net gains, and the biggest losers were Telefonica (which lost a net 97,000 fixed lines), Vodafone Spain (down 62,000) and Orange Espana (3,500).

DIGI also topped the pile in terms of MNP gains, recording nearly 235,000 lines ported in 1H22, compared to just over 60,000 for MASMOVIL. Once again Telefonica was the biggest loser, reporting a net outflow of more than 200,000 mobile users, compared to nearly 140,000 for Orange and 78,000 for Vodafone.
