Dhiraagu, Ooredoo expand FTTH to additional islands

Dhivehi Raajjeyge Gulhun (Dhiraagu), the Maldives’ incumbent telecoms operator, has announced the expansion of its fibre broadband service to three additional locations. The fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) and DhiraaguTV services are now available in Naivaadhoo, an inhabited island of Haa Dhaalu Atoll, as well as Baarah (Haa Alif Atoll) and Fehendhoo (Baa Atoll). The firm’s fibre broadband service is now available on 87 islands of the Maldives, representing coverage of 83% of households.

Meanwhile, Dhiraagu’s competitor Ooredoo Maldives say it has expanded its ‘SuperNet’ FTTH service to Dhigurah island in Alif Dhaal Atoll, offering consumers maximum speeds of 100Mbps.
