stc holds a Blood Donation Drive for stc family

Kuwait Telecommunications Company – stc, a world-class digital leader providing innovative services and platforms to customers, enabling the digital transformation in Kuwait, held a blood donation drive for stc family in line with the World Blood Donor Day, a worldwide initiative that falls on June 14th of every year focusing on donating blood to save lives. The initiative was organized for stc employees in collaboration with the Kuwait Central Blood Bank, and the participation of Tabeeby App, and the Canteen Grocery Store to spread awareness on the importance and benefits of donating blood.

stc’s blood donation drive initiative aligns with the Company’s extensive corporate social responsibility framework, that revolves around health, education, preserving environment, youth empowerment and community. In addition to donating blood, the campaign focused on familiarizing employees with the importance of donating blood, as well as the positive impacts and benefits associated with the selfless action. The internal event witnessed a high level of participation from employees who were eager to contribute to support of those who need blood, and the community.

Kuwait Central Blood Bank held a celebratory ceremony on Tuesday, June 14th in line with the World Blood Donor Day under the patronage of Minister of Health His Excellency. Dr.Khalid Al Saeed and the attendance of the Assistant Undersecretary for Technical Affairs of the Kuwait Ministry of Health, Dr. Abdul-Rahman Al-Mutairi. During the ceremony, stc represented by Mr. Ahmad Al Nuwaibet, Public Relations & Social Media Manager, was recognized by the Kuwait Central Blood Bank due to its outstanding contributions to the community as part of our ongoing collaboration with the Kuwait Central blood bank since the inception of stc.

During the blood drive, Tabeeby App, an innovative mobile application used to connect with trusted doctors in various specialized fields, helped spread awareness on the cause. The Tabeeby App presented valuable information to stc’s employees regarding donating blood, as well as some of the key uses and functions of the Tabeeby app. Canteen Grocery Store also participated in the blood drive by distributing beverages to donors at stc’s headquarters.

Danah AlJasem, General Manager of Corporate Communications at stc, said, “In line with stc’s CSR strategy, we are proud to participate with the Kuwait Central Blood Bank in its various initiatives as part of our responsibility towards the community,. This initiative, which we hold on an annual basis, helps spread awareness and educates individuals on the importance of donating blood to those who are in need, as well as the associated health benefits. At stc we strive to give back to the community in different ways, while involving our employees in various initiatives that aim to empower and support our community.”

AlJasem added, “stc actively explores innovative ways to engage its employees in various cause-driven initiatives. The blood donation campaign demonstrates stc’s lasting commitment to the community and to its Corporate Social Responsibilities Programs. Arranging for employees to donate blood was a great way for us to give back to the community by supporting Kuwait’s healthcare and medical services.” She also expressed that the initiative, organized and launched by stc, reflects the Company’s commitment in spreading awareness amongst its employees on various health related matters that affect the community”

AlJasem stated, “As a leading pioneer within the telecommunications sector in Kuwait, the Company has organized numerous initiatives in collaboration with entities within the government and private sectors. This has in return enabled stc to create a larger impact within the community. stc aims to maintain this momentum by strengthening its relationships with various entities through community driven initiatives.”

AlJasem praised the continuous efforts made by the team at the Kuwait Central Blood Bank for supporting the drive, and for the recognition that stc has received during the ceremony. She also thanked all the employees including the top management for taking part in this blood donation drive that would not have been a success without their encouragement and commitment towards this selfless act.
